We love board and card games around here, and while we’ve been known to spend hours playing more complicated games like Settlers of Catan, we’re also always on the lookout for games that are easy to learn, don’t take a lot of time to play and work well with a wide range of ages—something you can bring out on Thanksgiving and not get groans.
Recently someone shared Play Nine with us and it’s now in regular rotation on family game nights! We’ve seen it for sale at board game stores, Target and Amazon.com.
The game relies on a combination of strategy and luck, and takes about 20 minutes to play. Like the real game of golf, your goal is to get the lowest score. You can learn more about game play on the manufacturer’s website here. Play Nine is for 2-6 players ages 8 and up. Sometimes games don’t scale well for just two people, but this one does.
